Here in Melbourne the majority of Catholic and Orthodox funerals require a service to take place in a chapel or church of your choice followed by a burial or cremation. At Kind and Special funerals, we arrange and conduct our funerals in a respectful and elegant manner, that allow families to be able to give their loved ones a beautiful send off. Viewings are optional for families who wish to see their loved one, one last time before the coffin is closed. In the catholic church this process usually takes place the night before the funeral service and in some Orthodox churches this can be done on the day of the funeral service prior to the mass commencing or towards the end, just before the completion of the service. Following the service, the family have the option of having a ‘Meal of Mercy’ to celebrate the life of their loved one immediately after the funeral service or following the burial at a hall or back at the family home.
